Cornell employees are being encouraged to take advantage of the safety and convenience of direct deposit for their paychecks through several changes in the current system.
Effective March 12, the Payroll Department guarantees that all paychecks will be deposited in personal accounts by the start of business on Thursday paydays.
Also, the direct deposit program has been expanded to include all employees, including undergraduate students and temporary employees.
Paychecks can be deposited into any checking or savings account in the country. Many financial institutions provide automated systems for verifying account balances, making funds transfers and paying bills, as well as other benefits.
To launch the expanded program, the university will provide employees with the opportunity to meet and discuss direct deposit and other financial products with area financial representatives. The specific dates and times for these meetings are:
Every employee currently in the program or who selects direct deposit in the next two months will participate in drawings for prizes that include two airline tickets to anywhere in the continental United States, free campus parking for a year or the use of Red Runner, and gift certificates from the Campus Store.
Enrollment forms are available through payroll representatives, Student Employment Services at 203 Day Hall, the Office of Human Resources at 130 Day Hall, or at any campus bank branch.
