Robert Ware, senior process technologist in the engineering division of Rohm and Haas Co., will deliver the Raymond G. Thorpe Lecture in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in 155 Olin Hall.
His talk, "Process Innovation in Specialty Materials Design and Manufacture for a Sustainable Future," is free and open to the public. Ware is responsible for his company's process development, identifying improved manufacturing solutions and leveraging process technology.
Prior to joining Rohm and Haas in 2000, Ware spent 16 years with Mobil Oil (now ExxonMobil) in various positions in research and development, process scale up and design, and commercial support of petroleum refining and petrochemical technology.
Ware earned a Sc.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. from Cornell and a B.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, all in chemical engineering. He is the co-inventor on 25 U.S. patents.
