Doug Antczak, VMD, recently received the 2000 Distinguished Veterinary Immunologist Award from the American Association of Veterinary Immunologists (AAVI). Antczak currently is the Dorothy Havemeyer McConville Professor of Equine Medicine and Professor of Immunology, and he also is director of the James A. Baker Institute for Animal Health in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Antczak's specialty is equine reproductive immunology, and he is internationally recognized as an expert on the equine trophoblast and MHC. The AAVI presented Antczak with the award at the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases in Chicago, Nov. 13.
