Shoemobile: The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) has announced that Lehigh will be on campus with its shoemobile Friday, Feb. 4, 7:30-11 a.m. and noon-3 p.m. at the Environmental Health and Safety Building, 201 Palm Road (east of Cornell Orchard, off Route 366). Employees eligible to receive department reimbursement for safety shoes should use their procurement cards when purchasing shoes. Prices above department allowances can be paid by the employee with cash, personal credit card or check. Questions should be referred to EH&S by calling 255-8200.
Spring riding opportunities: Oxley Equestrian Center on Pine Tree Road is offering group lessons in hunt seat riding beginning Feb. 7. The center also offers private lessons by appointment. The facilities are open to the public. For information, contact Ginny or Tarene at 272-0150 or 272-0152.
Book on women athletes: In conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day 2000 this week, copies of Silver Era, Golden Moments: A Celebration of Ivy League Women's Athletics by Paula D. Welch will be available at the Cornell Campus Store beginning today, Feb. 3. Incorporating history, photos and reminiscences of athletes, coaches and administrators, the book highlights nearly a century of women's sport in the Ivy League.
