The Cornell Board of Trustees, at its Jan. 29 meeting in New York City, approved a 2000-01 budget that calls for a 4.2 percent tuition increase for the endowed colleges.
The tuition increase is lower than last year's adjustment and the lowest since 1965-66, said Henrik N. Dullea, vice president for university relations.
The 4.2 percent increase sets tuition at Cornell's endowed colleges at $24,760 for the 2000-01 academic year. Currently, endowed tuition is $23,760.

Statutory college tuition rates will not be considered by the board until state budget proposals have been reviewed.
