The award-winning Hagen Quartet, renowned for its bold interpretations and challenging programming, will perform Friday, April 28, at 8 p.m. in Statler Auditorium. On the program are Ravel's Quartet in F Major; Webern's Five Pieces, Op. 5, and Six Bagatelles, Op. 9; and Beethoven's Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 130/133.
Tickets, $11-$14 for the general public and $7-$9 for students, are available in the ticket office, 124 White Hall, 255-5144, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets also can be ordered via the Cornell Concert Series web site, http://www.arts.cornell.edu/ccs/.
The group is composed of three siblings -- violinist Lukas Hagen, violist Veronika Hagen and cellist Clemens Hagen -- and violinist Rainer Schmidt. Now in its second decade of an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, the Hagen Quartet twice has been awarded the Grand Prix International du Disque and twice has won the Prix Caecilia.
