Lanny Joyce, left, Cornell Lake Source Cooling (LSC) project manager, speaks with Dan W.
Reicher, the U.S. Department of Energy's assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy,
at the LSC heat-exchange facility on Lake Shore Drive April 28. Reicher, who had given a talk earlier
in the day on campus, praised the project, reported the
Ithaca Journal. "What you see here is
fascinating. It is a landmark project that will demonstrate how we can use nature's own cooling to
dramatically cut energy costs at Cornell," Reicher said, adding, "If this works, we'd like to help replicate it."
