Splitting hairs

Armah Kpissay, a Cornell Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, works with an Ithaca first-grader named Ben at the Cornell Nanobiotechnology Center-sponsored children's program at the Ithaca Festival on the Commons June 3. Kpissay is showing Ben how to draw a human red blood cell to scale, where one meter equals the width of a human hair. More than 125 children participated in the center's activity that day.
