Computer outage planned: From 10 p.m. Saturday, July 29, through noon Sunday, July 30, all equipment in the Rhodes Hall machine and nodes rooms will be shut down while an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) is installed. Central computing services that will remain operational during this time period are EZ-Remote, EZ-Backup, Kerberos and the domain name system (DNS). Services that will be unavailable are e-mail, CUinfo, CU People web pages, Cornell mailing lists operated with ListProc, all Cornell University Library machines, all administrative systems, all instructional machines and more than 40 local area networks (LANs). If problems are encountered during this installation, the fallback date will be the following weekend, Saturday, Aug. 5, and Sunday, Aug. 6. New library catalog online: Cornell University Library launched its new online catalog June 26. Available through the Library Gateway at http://www.library.cornell.edu, the new catalog is fully web-based and can be accessed using any web browser, either from within the library or by dialing in from a remote location. Music Library: The Music Library, which was relocated to White Hall during the Lincoln Hall renovation project, will close at 5 p.m. Friday, July 7. Transfer of music material back to Lincoln Hall will begin July 10, and the library will reopen July 31.
