* Fall registration: Check Just the Facts to see if you are registered. If not yet registered, go to the office where the "hold" was placed, as directed on Just the Facts, and clear the hold. * Active file fee deadline: To avoid the $200 active file fee for fall 2000, Ph.D. students who are not registered for fall 2000 must complete all degree requirements by Sept. 15, including defense and submission of the final copies of the dissertation to the graduate school.
* Fulbright grants: Applications and booklets for study abroad in 2001-2002 are available at the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, 170 Uris Hall; 255-6370; see http://www.einaudi.cornell.edu/funding. Applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree prior to Sept. 2001 and be a U.S. citizen. Grants cover travel, living costs and tuition at overseas universities. The Fulbright adviser, Professor Milton Esman, will meet individually with applicants in September; sign up for appointment. The deadline for completed application is Friday, Oct. 6.
