Disaster and scholarship funds set up by CU in wake of attacks

At a time when so many people are searching for ways to help those affected by the recent national events, and at the request of university alumni, Cornell has established two funds to offer relief to those in the immediate Cornell community whose lives have been directly affected by the Sept. 11 tragedy.

All gifts to both funds are tax deductible to the full extent of the Internal Revenue Service Code and will be recognized in a manner consistent with other gifts to the university.

Checks may be made payable to "Cornell University -- Cornell September 11 Disaster Relief Fund" or "Cornell University -- Cornell September 11 Scholarship Fund" and sent to: Robert Morgan, Cornell University, 55 Brown Road, Ithaca, N.Y. 14850.

Credit card gifts may be made by calling 254-7121 or the toll free number at 1-800-279-3099.

Online giving also is available at http://www.alumni.cornell.edu/howyoucanhelp.html.
