Hotel School students will host the 2001 Guest Chefs Series beginning Feb. 25, under the direction of celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson of Restaurant Aquavit. The event will begin at Banfi's at 6 p.m. with a champagne reception and traditional Scandinavian hors d'oeuvres, followed by a Scandinavian five-course meal at 6:30 p.m. Students enrolled in the Guest Chefs class prepare and coordinate the event under Samuelsson's direction.
Advanced reservations are required and can be made through the Statler Hotel by calling 254-2624.
Chef and co-owner of New York and Minneapolis Aquavit restaurants, Samuelsson is an award-winning chef who has been widely featured in the news media.
Future celebrity guest chefs will be Janos Wilder of Janos in Tucson, Ariz., on March 11 and Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger in Boston on April 29.
