Running fund-raiser: Brielle Rosa (veterinary student '04) and Tina Jeoh (agricultural and biological engineering, graduate student) are conducting a raffle as part of an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the Team-in-Training program. They have committed to three things: to run the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska, June 23 in honor of a local leukemia or lymphoma patient; to foster a friendship with a local patient; and to raise a minimum of $8,800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society provides funding for research, public and professional education and community service programs for patients and their families. Leukemia is the number one disease killer of children in the United States. For more information regarding the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, see its web site at www.leukemia-lymphoma.org . Prizes for the raffle have been generously donated by a number of local businesses, Raffle tickets, $1 each, can be purchased at the Purple Lion Café (in Dryden), Borealis Books, Ludgate Farms, Cayuga Mountain Bike Shop or the Cornell Outdoor Education outfitting desk. The drawing is May 1. For more information about the raffle and Rosa and Jeoh's effort, visit www.ludgatefarms.com/team.html.
