Got game? The First Annual Cornell Dairy Open golf tournament is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 9, at Cornell's Robert Trent Jones Golf Course on Warren Road. It is sponsored by the university's Department of Food Science. Proceeds from this tournament will be used to establish a Cornell Dairy Equipment Fund. Registration fee is $125 per person for a captain and crew format. This fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart and a barbecue following the tournament. Players can register at the course beginning at noon. There will be a shot-gun start at 1 p.m. Individuals without teams also can register.
The department will also sponsor a Chocolate Milk Mustache Day in the afternoon, in front of the Dairy Bar on Tower Road. Get your picture taken wearing a chocolate, strawberry or white milk mustache. Wearing that mustache, you will have the chance to appear in a milk advertisement in Inside Stuff, the National Basketball Association's official magazine and a chance to attend the 2002 NBA All-Star Game. There will also be free samples of Cornell ice cream.
To preregister for the tournament, contact Mary Fraboni at 255-7900 or mef3@cornell.edu. For more information about the tournament or the Chocolate Milk Mustache Day event, contact Kim Bukowski at 255-5871 or KRB14@cornell.edu.
