Her own award

Greta M. Colavito, left, winner of the Boyce Thompson Institute's (BTI) first Bettie Brooks Distinguished Service Award, is greeted by Daniel F. Klessig, president of BTI, during the award presentation in the BTI Auditorium, Sept. 14. Colavito began working for BTI in 1972 when the institute was located in Yonkers, N.Y. When BTI moved to the Cornell campus in 1978, Colavito moved as well. Because she was the first person so honored, the award will now be called the Brooks-Colavito Award for Distinguished Service.
