Human Ecology students take donut orders for Loaves & Fishes fund-raiser

Krispy Kreme calories at Cornell will burn into cold cash for Loaves and Fishes, an Ithaca-based soup kitchen and ministry of hospitality. Human Ecology Voices, the umbrella student organization in the College of Human Ecology, is taking orders, campuswide, for Krispy Kreme donuts by the dozen until Nov. 5, for delivery Nov. 7.

"Voices organizes events that create a sense of community," said Howard Heching, co-chair of Voices and a senior from Monsey, N.Y., majoring in human development. "This month we are running our second annual Cornell-wide donut fund-raiser. Last year, we raised $400 for the United Way, but this year we hope to raise closer to $1,000 for Loaves and Fishes."

The glazed donuts from Rochester's Krispy Kreme are $5 per dozen and may be ordered in person in 172 Martha Van Rensselaer Hall today and Friday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, noon-3 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 4, 12:30-4:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Or e-mail voices@cornell.edu and a representative will pick up payment at any Cornell office. Donuts will be available to be picked up Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in MVR 114. Questions? Contact voices@cornell.edu.
