Experiment Station honored: The university's New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, N.Y., has been named the recipient of the 2002 Perpetual Winegrape Productivity Tray for exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the U.S. wine industry. For each of the last 18 years, the Vinifera Wine Growers Association (VWGA), of Alexandria, Va., has awarded the tray to an individual or organization that has made exceptional contributions to the industry. The tray is a two-foot-long, solid silver champagne service with a sculpted wine and grape border and engraved grapes and vines on the inner oval. The names of past winners are engraved on the back.
