The only student-run organization of its kind in the nation, the Cornell Undergraduate Research Board (CURB), will host its 17th annual celebration of undergraduate research April 15 to 17, on campus, with the theme "Women in Science."
In keeping with the title, the keynote speaker for the research forum will be a highly successful woman scientist: Rita Colwell, director of the National Science Foundation (see related story, Page 3).
Colwell will give opening remarks at CURB's convocation Wednesday, April 17, at 4 p.m. in Kaufmann Auditorium of Goldwin Smith Hall.
The spring event, representing research from every college in the university, is an opportunity for students from all majors and backgrounds to present their work to the general public and fellow undergraduates. Students' poster presentations will follow Colwell's talk, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Goldwin Smith Hall. Oral presentations by students will be in various classrooms in Rockefeller Hall from 7 to 9 p.m., April 15 and 16.
