Carolyn Ainslie, vice president for budget and planning and chair of the university's Workforce Planning Committee, updates approximately 250 university
financial managers and administrators at the spring Cornell University Financial Forum (CUFF), held April 9 in the Biotechnology Building. Ainslie said the
universitywide hiring freeze, initiated in November 2001 along with the work-force planning effort, has been successful. Later in the day, President Hunter Rawlings announced
that the freeze would be lifted while the work-force planning effort continues. (See story in the April 11 Cornell Chronicle.) Nicola Kountoupes/University Photography
