Union Days on Campus

Among the School of Industrial and Labor Relations' Union Days activities last week was a panel discussion April 11, in 105 Ives Hall on the role of labor in correcting economic disparities, featuring: Francine Moccio, director of the ILR Institute for Women and Work; Stephen Franklin, labor reporter at the Chicago Tribune; Risa Lieberwitz, Cornell associate professor of labor law and adjunct ILR professor; and Muzaffar Chishti, director of the Migration Policy Institute at New York University School of Law.

Another event during Union Days 2002, sponsored by the ILR School, was the Social Justice Career Fair, on careers in union organizing, in the Smithers and Cleary and AFL-CIO lobbies of Ives Hall, April 12. Above, from left, Connie Holt, East Coast recruiter for the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees (HERE) International Union, speaks with Mikush Schwam-Baird and Dana Perls, both seniors in the College of Arts and Sciences. Thirteen organizations took part in the career fair.
