Farewell and thanks

Daniel Usner, Cornell professor of history and director of the American Indian Program, was given a farewell party, May 8, in the A.D. White House by the Department of History and the American Indian Program. Usner, who came to Cornell as an assistant professor in 1980, will be leaving to take a position at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., beginning July 1. During the May 8 ceremony, above, a group of graduate students presented Usner, third from left, with a ceremonial knife.
