Maurice Hinchey (D-26th Dist.), right, receives the "Champion of Science" award from Robert Richardson, Cornell vice provost for research, during a ceremony June 22 at the Ithaca Sciencenter. The award, presented on behalf of the Science Coalition, an alliance of more than 400 organizations, of which Cornell is a founding member, recognizes Hinchey's efforts toward expanding federal investment in university-based research.
