Examining another reality

Ken Ridley, left, system administrator for the Cornell Theory Center, gives visitors from Ireland and Dublin City University (DCU) a tour of the Theory Center's CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment), June 28. Taking the three-dimensional virtual reality "tour" are Tom McCarthy, seated, incoming dean of the DCU business school; and from left, standing, Eilis O'Brien, DCU director of communications and marketing; Deborah O'Shea, president and CEO of Atlantic Corridor, USA; Ciarán O'Catháin, director of the Athlone Institute of Technology; and Brian MacCraith, director of the National Centre for Sensor Research. The delegation was on campus looking at Cornell resources at the request of N.Y. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as part of her initiative to inspire research and business collaboration between New York state and Ireland, Northern Ireland and Ontario.
