Community service awarded

Cornell Business and Technology Park (CBTP) presented its annual Community Service Awards at the pond pavilion on Thornwood Drive July 12. Two companies in the industrial park, chosen for their community service commitment, received checks for $1,000 to donate to a not-for-profit of their choice. Shown are John Majeroni, left, representing CBTP; Jack Henlon, CEO of Advion Bio-Sciences Inc., holding his company's award; Alice Green, of Big Brother-Big Sister of Ithaca Youth Bureau, and Dave Jung, Advion project manager, displaying an oversized check representing Advion's gift to the one-on-one program. Advion also made a gift to the American Red Cross of Tompkins County. The other award winner, Autodesk, gave its gift to Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service of Tompkins County.
