Math explorations

Patti Alessi, Cornell lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Learning Strategies Center, shares her passion for math with Daphne Davalie, a Summer College high school student from New Orleans. Thanks to Summer College's efforts to encourage and increase the participation of underrepresented minority students in its programs, it has received a portion of the GE Fund's Math Excellence Initiative. Each summer, more than 600 juniors and seniors enroll in Cornell's six-week Summer College program.
