YES, CU football: The YES Network (Yankees Entertainment & Sports) will produce and broadcast four Ivy League football games live on Saturday afternoons this fall. The first will be Cornell at Harvard on Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. The others are Columbia at Penn, Oct. 19 at 12:30 p.m., Yale at Brown, Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m., and Dartmouth at Princeton, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. The YES Network is available to viewers in New York, Connecticut and parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In addition to 130 Yankees games and an anticipated 75 Nets games, YES broadcasts other professional and collegiate sports events as well as classic sports footage. In the Ithaca area, the YES network is part of the standard Time-Warner cable package, Channel 74, for both analog and digital service.
Mummy on the tube: Under wraps for hundreds of years, a Peruvian mummy from the Cornell Anthropology Collections makes its television debut Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel's science program "The Mummy Road Show." The cable television episode, titled "Mummy in a Closet," repeats Oct.7 at 11 p.m., Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel. The episode was taped April 26-29 in Ithaca when "Mummy Road Show" co-hosts Ron Beckett and Jerry Conlogue, two professors from Quinnipiac University, examined the Peruvian mummy with radiography and endoscopy in its McGraw Hall home then transported the mummy to Cayuga Medical Center for CT scan imaging. The weekly program travels around the world, using advanced imaging techniques and old-fashioned detective work to reveal the history of mummies found in unexpected places.

Business law information, online: Cornell Law Library has formed an alliance with the U.S. Small Business Administration to enhance the services provided to small U.S. businesses at http://www.businesslaw.gov , the SBA's online resource guide to legal and regulatory information. Familiarly known as BusinessLaw.gov, the site was launched in December 2001 and now offers access to information on federal, state and local business laws; supplies, and links to, information on a range of business topics, such as employee rights and international trade; and answers questions on most aspects of doing business. The Law Library is helping to provide the web site with information relevant to small businesses in New York state. "The Cornell Law Library recognizes the importance of public access to legal information in the digital age," said Jean Callihan, head of reference services at the library, who signed the agreement on its behalf. "We are committed to working with the SBA to provide small businesses with the information they need to succeed."
