Lilya 4-Ever

Tonight, Nov. 20, at 7:15 in the Willard Straight Theatre, Cornell Cinema presents the Ithaca premiere of Lukas MoodyssonÕs "Lilya 4-Ever," the devastating story of a 16-year-old girl abandoned by her mother somewhere in the wreckage of the post-Soviet Union. Lilya's attempts to fend for herself lead to disappointment and betrayal, as she escapes to Sweden only to find herself forced into prostitution. Check the films listing for additional screenings. Teatrotaller, Cornell's Latin American theater production troupe, presents Dia de Campo, a tragicomedy in Spanish, Nov. 20-21, 8 p.m., Barnes Hall. Admission is $5, $3 each for groups of 10. The fourth annual Employee Craft and Art Fair is Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Statler Hall atrium. The fair features handmade crafts, including gingerbread houses, doll clothes and jewelry; baked goods; and homemade candy.
Puppet Show
A holiday puppet show for children, featuring local singer/songwriter Tom Knight, is Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. in G10 Biotechnology Building. The event is free and is sponsored by Students With Families, Graduate and Professional Student Housing, GPSAFC, the Graduate School and the International Students and Scholars Office.
