A paper by a Cornell doctoral student, Tad Hara, and a faculty member, Sid Saltzman, was named the Sage Publication Best Conference Paper at the eighth annual Graduate Education and Graduate Students' Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism, held in Las Vegas, Jan. 6. Hara is studying hotel administration in the School of Hotel Administration and regional science in the Department of City and Regional Planning (CRP). Saltzman is a professor emeritus in CRP's regional science program. The paper quantifies the impact on the New York City economy of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. It was selected from among 250 competing papers.
