Nominations sought:The College of Human Ecology is seeking nominations for the Flora Rose Prize. This prize is awarded to the Cornell junior or senior who, in the words of the donor, "shall demonstrate the greatest promise for contributing to the growth and self-fulfillment of future generations." Among the criteria for selection:

  • The student has demonstrated a self-initiated activity that has had an expanded impact on others;
  • The student has demonstrated abilities to successfully communicate with, influence and empower other individuals; and
  • The student possesses exemplary personal characteristics.

    Nominations are to be sent to Barbara Palhof, bap4@cornell.edu, College of Human Ecology Admission, Student and Career Services, 160 MVR Hall, by Monday, March 24. Nominated students will be notified and will have an opportunity to prepare a statement and to provide the selection committee with two letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation should describe:The capacity in which the nominator knows the student and how the nominee has fulfilled the criteria listed above. The selection committee will submit a recommendation to the dean, and the award will be presented at the college's award event in April.
