Railfair this weekend: The 20th annual Finger Lakes Railfair will be held this weekend, April 26 and 27, in its expanded home at The Field, north of Ithaca at 1767 E. Shore Dr. (Route 34). The railfair is an annual chance for fans of railroading to get their fix of full-sized railroadiana and models, kits and parts, videos, books, photos and toys. Exhibitors and dealers will display on 225 tables. The sponsors will have tracks for testing equipment in N, HO, S and Lionel O scales. Visitors will have a chance to run model trains themselves and see working layouts in seven scales, from the tiny Z to the Lionel Standard from the 1930s. Hands-on layouts will be in place for children in the Lionel O scale and for fans of all ages in the smaller, popular HO scale. The times for the railfair are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Contributions are asked of those attending, who will be eligible for door prizes. Hot food, including breakfast, will be available. The show is sponsored by the Cornell Railroad Historical Society http://www.lehighvalleyrr.com, which draws its 100-plus members from 13 states and Japan.
