They are taught by native speakers and are geared toward conversational fluency. Beginning classes are Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7 p.m. in 185 Rockefeller Hall. Intermediate classes are Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:15-7:45 p.m., 183 Rockefeller Hall. Contact CUSLAR at cuslar@cornell.edu or 255-7293.

Quilt exhibition:Through June 13, the Boyce Thompson Institute (BTI) atrium will be home to an array of beautiful quilts, also termed "original fiber art." The collection, called Botanica, is on loan from a group of talented local artisans known as The Quilt Divas. The quilts feature botanical themes, in the spirit of BTI's work, and many will be for sale. There will be an evening reception tonight, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. to open the show. The public is invited to attend.
