College: Veterinary Medicine
Academic focus: Pathogenesis of infectious diseases with an emphasis on the diseases of birds and wild fauna.
Previous position: Doctoral student at the University of California-Davis.
Academic background: B.S., biology, Cornell, 1992; M.S., veterinary biosciences, and D.V.M., both from Ohio State University, 1996; Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Pathologists, 2000; Ph.D., comparative pathology, University of California-Davis, 2004.

Mason A. Peck

Assistant professor, mechanical and aerospace engineering
College: Engineering
Academic focus: Spacecraft systems engineering; nonlinear dynamics and control; attitude dynamics and estimation.
Previous position: Principal fellow, Honeywell Defense and Space Systems 2001-04; attitude dynamics specialist and systems engineer, Hughes Space and Communications (now known as Boeing Satellite Systems), 1994-2001; assistant engineer, Bell Helicopter, 1993-94.

W. Bradley Wendel

Associate professor, law
College: Cornell Law School
Academic focus: Wendel's main areas of interest include professional responsibility and legal ethics. At the law school he is teaching a section on torts, The Law Governing Lawyers, and Ethical Issues in Civil Litigation. Recent articles published include "Civil Obedience," 104 Columbia Law Review 363 (2004), and "A Moderate Defense of Hate Speech Regulations on University Campuses," 41 Harvard Journal on Legislation 407 (2004).
Previous position: Associate professor of law, Washington and Lee Law School. He was also a visiting faculty member at Cornell Law School in 1993.
