Lehman and ILR Dean Edward Lawler cut two ribbons to officially open the newly renovated ILR Conference Center, Research and Extension Buildings on Garden Avenue Oct. 15. The ribbons, both emblazoned with the words "ILR Advancing the World of Work," were "symbolic of the interwoven cross-currents of labor and management" that have characterized the school since its inception, said Lehman. Also participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony (but not in the photo) were Kenneth Kahn '69, ILR, who made the lead gift toward the project, Judge James Lack, who, as a New York State senator, helped secure funding, and Stuart GraBois, representing the Carpenters Union, whose members were involved in the project's completion.
