"Cornell -- Birth of the American University" will air Monday, Dec. 6, and Thursday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 11, at 5:30 p.m. The documentary pegs the beginning of classes at Cornell in 1868 as a new era that changed the way higher education was taught in the United States. The documentary was produced by WSKG TV's Brian Frey, who also produced the Emmy Award-winning documentaries "The Flood of '35" and "Glenn Curtiss:The Forgotten Eagle." WSKG, a PBS station, broadcasts from the Binghamton area on Channel 46 and is carried on Channel 6 by Ithaca's Time Warner Cable.
