A student team from the Johnson Graduate School of Management was among four teams that made it to the final round Dec. 4-6 of a new, national case-study competition in product strategy among MBA students. The other teams were from MBA programs at Harvard, Emory and Notre Dame universities.
To get to the final round, the students had competed against 32 teams from the top 10 U.S. business schools and other university business programs. The finalists developed product strategies for John Deere residential lawn and garden products. The competition was sponsored by the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
While the Johnson School team was bested by one of the Notre Dame teams, which walked away with the top prize, and the Harvard team, which came in second, they were pleased to have done as well as they did their first year competing and very much enjoyed the experience of testing out their skills, said Tzu Chieh Lin, a team member.
Other members of the Johnson School team were Jeremie Delvoie, Joshua Parker, Olga Narvskaia and Nailah Jinnah.
