Getting fired up

During the closing dinner for the student-organized retreat "Les Femmes De Substance: Mobilization Through Sistahly Love" Feb. 14 in Trillium of Kennedy Hall, keynote speaker the Rev. Debyii L. Sababu Thomas, assistant professor of communications at Howard University and a noted inspirational speaker, with microphone, joins students in the audience during her speech. The weekend retreat, which focused on black femininity and heritage, community obligation, enhancement of intergenerational communication and leadership, was made possible through funding and personal support from Sheila Johnson, co-founder of BET (Black Entertainment Television).
