Goethe Prize: Submissions for the 2004 Goethe Prize, open to all students, are being sought. Essays can be in German or English on any topic connected with German literature or culture. Graduate students can win up to $500 with an essay that is 10 to 20 pages long; juniors and seniors can win up to $250 with a seven- to 15-page essay; and freshmen and sophomores can win up to $250 with a five- to 10-page essay.
