The Biophysical Society has included Cornell graduate student Daniel Dombeck among the 16 winners of its annual Student Research Achievement Awards. Dombeck, a student in the Department of Applied and Engineering Physics, won the society's Membrane Biophysics group's award for his poster presentation, "Optical Recording of Neuronal Action Potentials with Second-Harmonic Generation Microscopy." The awards have been given out since 1994, and this year 101 society student members participated in the competitive event at the society's annual meeting in Baltimore, Feb. 14 to 18.
