Last call for responses to 'Call to Engagement'

Lehman

During his inauguration in October, President Jeffrey Lehman first announced a "Call to Engagement" for all Cornellians to gather reflections on how the university might evolve between now and its 2015 sesquicentennial. He asked the greater Cornell community to join him in "thoughtful consideration of a set of important questions that can help shape the long-term future for the university." The deadline for gathering feedback to be included in this process is approaching.

Responses to the president's Call to Engagement have poured in since his announcement. More than 700 Cornellians have either submitted their own thoughts or participated in various forums and town hall meetings devoted to the eight questions that frame the call. President Lehman is in the process of reading through all the responses, and he says he has been "deeply impressed by the thoughtfulness and breadth of contributions, as well as the passion that so many have for Cornell."

The president plans to prepare a report to the community by next fall, summarizing what he has learned from the process.

Send in your responses to the Call to Engagement before June 30 so they can be included in the president's deliberations. Contributions can be sent by e-mail to calltoengagement@cornell.edu or delivered to the President's Office in 300 Day Hall.

The Call to Engagement questions can be found online at: http://www.assembly.cornell.edu/CTEquestions.html.
