Cornell President Jeffrey S. Lehman will preside over the university's 136th Commencement Sunday, May 30, with approximately 5,200 graduates receiving degrees at a ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. on Schoellkopf Field. Lehman, Class of 1977, Cornell's first alumnus president, will present his first commencement address. The ceremony caps two days of celebratory events on campus.
The Honorable William Jefferson Clinton, 42nd president of the United States, will present the Senior Convocation address Saturday, May 29, at 9 a.m. on Schoellkopf Field.
Senior Convocation is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required for admission, which will begin at 6:30 a.m. All attendees must be seated by 8:30 a.m. and should plan to arrive at the stadium by 8 a.m. Vehicular traffic will be restricted on campus (read the story). Visitors are advised to park in the North Campus (A lot) and the Veterinary College (B lot) parking lots and ride the shuttle bus to the stadium. Backpacks and other large bags will not be allowed into the stadium. In the event of severe weather, the convocation will be held in Barton Hall and only graduating students will be permitted to attend.
Both ceremonies will be webcast live at http://www.cornell.edu and carried live on Time Warner Cable Channel 16, WHCU AM 870 and News 10 Now. Viewing will be available on campus in Bartels Hall, Call Alumni Auditorium in Kennedy Hall, Law Auditorium in the Veterinary College and at the auditoriums in Martha Van Rensselaer and Statler halls. In the event of severe weather, additional viewing will be available in Newman Arena.

As part of the weekend's events, the University Baccalaureate Service will be held Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in Barton Hall.
