Notices should be sent to arrive 10 days prior to publication and should include the name and telephone number of a person who can be called if there are questions.

Notices should also include the subheading of the calendar in which the item should appear.

Johnson Museum of Art
The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, on the corner of University and Central avenues, is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Telephone: 255-6464.

* "Heavenly Earth: Early Chinese Ceramics From the Shatzman Collection," through Aug. 22.

Family Eye-Opener: Sun, Sea and Sky: Aug. 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., children ages 6 to 11 are invited to explore the museum's collection with guest artist and educator Suzanne Klodziej and investigate how different artists create seascaes. Use pastels to create the sun and sky; learn dry-brush techniques to create the sea; and finish your masterpiece by printing clouds. Register by July 30 at 255-6464. Fees: $15 per child for museum members, $20 for nonmembers. Seating is limited.
Art for Lunch: Aug. 5 at noon, take a tour of the museum's permanent collections with a member of the education staff.
