Presidential handshake

Harry Katz, second from left, the Jack Sheinkman Professor of Collective Bargaining at Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, shakes the hand of South Korea President Roh Moo Hyun, right, in the Blue House, Korea's equivalent to the White House, June 24. Also shown are Manfred Weiss, left, past president of the International Industrial Relations Association (IIRA), and Young-Ki Choi, third from left, president of the Korean Labor Institute and a visiting fellow at the ILR School in 2003. They were part of a group of international labor scholars invited by the president to discuss pressing labor issues facing Korea. All the participants were in Seoul to take part in the IIRA's Fifth Asian Regional Congress: "Dynamics and Diversity: Employment Relations in the Asia-Pacific Region." One of the organizers, Wonduck Lee, a former visiting fellow at Cornell who is now a senior policy adviser to the South Korea president, arranged the meeting. Provided by Korean Labor Institute
