In honor of the 28th Olympiad in Athens, Greece, the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections (RMC) is running a small exhibition, "Cornellians at the Olympic Games," in the RMC Reference Room in Kroch Library.
Compiled by student assistant Corey Earle, the case includes programs and tickets from the first modern Olympic games, held in Athens in 1896 attended by Cornell professor of archaeology Eugene P. Andrews. There also are other items from later games in which Cornell students participated.
In addition, Corey has compiled a detailed spreadsheet of Cornell athletes who won medals in the Olympic games, available on the RMC Web site at http://rmc.library.cornell.edu/exhibits/exhibits.htm.
