Campus Life names director of marketing

LeNorman J. Strong, Cornell assistant vice president for student and academic services, recently announced that Frank L. Carollo has been named director of marketing and communications for Campus Life in the division of Student and Academic Services.

In this newly created position, Carollo is responsible for all marketing, advertising, public relations and internal communications for Campus Life. He also will guide customer services and external relations for the unit.

Carollo has more than 20 years of professional experience in public relations, marketing and communications. He has held posts such as director of client services for Ellini & Dunn Communications Services Inc. of Endwell, N.Y.; senior marketing communications specialist for Universal Instruments Corp. of Binghamton, N.Y.; director of public relations for the Queens Borough Public Library; and vice president of client services for McKamy Marketing Communications Inc. of New York City.

"It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome Frank to Cornell University and Campus Life," said Strong. "He brings a formidable arsenal of skills and experience from both the private and public sectors."

A graduate of Hofstra University with a bachelor of science degree in economics and business, Carollo also holds a master of arts degree in communications and popular culture studies from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University. He and his wife reside in Owego, N.Y.
