Cornell Ceramics Studio: Did you know that Elijah Cornell and his son, Ezra, were potters prior to Ezra's founding Cornell? The Office of the Dean of Students is continuing the legacy of the Cornell potters in the form of the newly renovated Cornell Ceramics Studio in Willard Straight Hall (WSH). Here are the grand-opening events for the studio, Thursday, Sept. 9, in WSH's International Lounge, Art Gallery and on Ho Plaza:

  • Ice Cream Social, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.:Free ice cream from the Cornell Dairy Store, pottery throwing demonstrations on Ho Plaza (rain locale:WSH lobby), poster exhibit, ceramics exhibit, entertainment and tours of the studio

  • Reception and ribbon cutting, 5-7 p.m.:Refreshments, poster and ceramics exhibits, pottery throwing demonstrations on Ho Plaza (rain locale:WSH lobby), entertainment and tours of the studio.
