Former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove will deliver the Robert Chasen Reading on Thursday, April 14, at 5 p.m. in the Statler Auditorium on campus. Dove, a past winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and winner of the Duke Ellington Award, is the author of eight books of poetry, a novel, a collection of essays, a collection of short stories and several plays. The Chasen Reading is the English department's only endowed poetry reading and occurs every other year. This year's reading also is co-sponsored by the Society for the Humanities, the Cornell Council for the Arts, the Africana Studies and Research Center and the office of Vice Provost Isaac Kramnick.
