President Hunter Rawlings, center, joins volunteers in Willard Straight Hall recently to support the annual Share the Warmth clothing drive being held on campus Friday, Nov. 22, to Friday, Dec. 6. The drive to collect warm clothing for distribution to those in need in Tompkins County is a "town-gown" project, which includes the Ithaca Rotary Club and a combination of Cornell Campus Life Housekeeping Services and several student organizations. Among the latter, Ecology House and Alpha Phi Omega are overseeing the entire campaign, with assistance from several fraternities, sororities and clubs, and the Statler Hotel staff. Organizers urge students to bring back warm clothing they no longer use, after Thanksgiving break, and put it into Share the Warmth collection boxes in residence halls, fraternities and sororities, Willard Straight Hall, the Big Red Barn and the Statler Club. The Rotary Club will complement the campus drive by making collection boxes available at Tops, P&C Food Markets, Pyramid Mall, Center Ithaca and Borg Warner.
