First prize-winners chosen in United Way pledge drawing

Donors to the Cornell United Way Campaign 1997 who make their pledges or payments this month have an opportunity to win more than 30 gifts, provided by several campus units. Eight drawings will be held each week from among pledge cards turned in and, says Janiece Bacon Oblak, chair of the campus campaign, the earlier you turn in your pledge card, the greater the variety of prizes you'll have a chance to win.

Prizes and winners last week were:

• two tickets for home football games: Nancy Connelly, Fernow Hall;
  
• two lunches at Trillium: Paul Speicher, Riley Robb;
  
• $25 gift certificate from the Campus Store: Michele Eastman, ILR;
  
• two tickets to Crimes of the Heart at CTA: Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Whiting, retirees;
  
• $10 gift certificate to the Cornell Orchards: Jeevak Parpia, Clark Hall;
  
• two guest passes to Cornell Cinema, Join Coil, Maple Avenue;
  
• three bags of dog food: Arend Both, Riley Robb; and
  
• three bags of cat food: Brenda Hammond, Vet Diagnostic Lab.
