Titled "Sexual Harassment in Higher Education: An Interactive Workshop For Faculty and Staff," it features a new theater piece, "My Place," that focuses on the academic environment.
The workshop, scheduled from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in room G10 of the Biotechnology Building, will cover the definition of sexual harassment, prohibited forms of conduct, the University's policy and procedures on sexual harassment and the standards that apply to cases alleging sexual harassment.
The interactive theater piece is designed to help participants promote a more professional and respectful work and academic evironment. Participants evaluate the actions and reactions of actors during the scene and discuss the scene with the actors at its conclusion.
Facilitators are Beatrice M. Biebuyck, assistant director-gender equity in the Office of Equal Opportunity, and P.J. Brown, interim director of the Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble.
