Hinton also will be joined by her husband, cellist Kurt Fowler, to present Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, op. 34, no. 14.
Hinton, who is acting university organist at Cornell this fall, was the winner of the 1996 National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance, sponsored by the American Guild of Organists. A Louisiana native, Hinton is a doctoral student at the Eastman School of Music, where she earned a master's degree in 1993 and a performer's certificate in 1994. She earned a bachelor's degree in music and French at Wellesley College.
As a pianist, an instrument she began studying at age 5, Hinton has won several competitions and has been a featured soloist with orchestras in Louisiana, Texas and Massachusetts. During the 1997-98 season, Hinton is scheduled to play recitals in Denver, Pasadena, San Francisco, Nashville, Houston and several other major cities in the United States.
A student of David Higgs, she currently serves as organist of Brighton Presbyterian Church in Rochester.
